Pre-Kindergarten Enrollment

To enroll in the Prekindergarten program, a child must be four years old on or before September 1 of the upcoming school year.

Students are eligible if they meet at least one of the following criteria:

• Limited English proficiency
  Unable to speak or comprehend English
  (Contact Amanda Gonzales at 940-235-1000 for testing.)
• Educationally disadvantaged
  Eligible for the National School Lunch Program
  (Income documentation such as pay stubs or a SNAP letter is required.)
• Military family (active duty)
  Child of an active-duty member of the U.S. Armed Forces, including state military forces or reserve components
• Military family (injured or deceased)
  Child of a member of the U.S. Armed Forces who was injured or killed while serving on active duty
• Foster care
  Currently in, or previously in, the conservatorship of the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services

While Prekindergarten is not currently offered at West Foundation Elementary, Wichita Falls ISD provides full-day Pre-K programs at several campuses across the district to support early childhood learning.

These programs are designed to give four-year-old children a strong start by helping them learn, grow, and become school-ready in a nurturing and engaging environment.

Pre-K programs across WFISD focus on:

• Building strong social and emotional skills
• Encouraging independence and confidence
• Inspiring a lifelong love of learning

• Jefferson Elementary
• Ben Milam Elementary
• Scotland Park Elementary
• Southern Hills Elementary
